Dewey Station Wines describe The Mars Express as a masculine Barossan red. A full-bodied offering, that will be enjoyed by all.
It is a blend of two different vineyards, one in the southern Barossa at Altona with 1m sand topsoil over red clay giving overt aromatic florals and passionfruit, and one vineyard in the northern Ebenezer region providing elegance and red and black fruit. Together, they produce a Shiraz with a floral nose and flavour of dark fruit and black pepper and spice with some weight. It has all the flavour of a Barossa Valley Shiraz without the strong tannins.
This Shiraz, that can be enjoyed on its own, was awarded 94 points by Sam Kim at Wine Orbit and a bronze medal at the 2020 Royal Adelaide Wine show.
