The blending of these noble varieties continues to offer great potential for complexity and depth of characters. Integration of these individual varietal aspects offers flavour profiles not found by the use of a single variety.
The fruit was open fermented for 7 days with some parcels having extended skin contact. The juice was then basket pressed and matured in older oak. The blending process starts with the Grenache with the Shiraz and Mouvedre added to produce consistency each vintage.
The wine has a light plum colour and the nose reveals lifted perfumed characters of plum, cassis and red berries and a hint of spice. The wine is soft and smooth on the palate with berry characters intermingled with a touch of spicy oak. The finish is smooth and persistent.
This soft-bodied but rich wine has a very broad appeal and tends to be the most popular Soul Growers wine.
