What a beautifully well-balanced and elegant wine.
The wine is full-bodied with flavours of plum and peppery spice and the tannins are gently delivered. The tannins are there but fine, soft and silky.
The fruit of the Northern Barossa Valley tends to produce smaller berries, with more intensive flavours and strong tannins.
Most people tend to pick the fruit based on fruit ripeness. Rojomoma picks a bit earlier, based on ripe tannins when the seeds are brown and crunchy. This allows them to produce fresher fruit and silkier tannins.
There are three separate blocks of shiraz on their little single vineyard, and each plot provides different characters and tannin profiles. Together they create a wine with great depth and layers of flavours.
